CEBU, Philippines - Sixteen Grand Finalists will vie for the titles — Little Singing Star and Big Singing star for 2009 in tonight’s Grand Finals of the Search for Singing Stars at 8:00 pm at the Compostela Gym.
This yearly Search for Singing Stars of Compostela is one of the highlights in the town’s fiesta celebration in honor of its Patron Saint, St. James the Apostle on July 24-25, 2009.
From the four weekly elimination rounds until the Pre-finals held last July 3, 2009, eight were chosen as finalists in the Little Division and another eight in the Big Division.
Finalists in the Little Division are Joenardy delos Reyes and his sister Joyce Ann delos Reyes of Barangay Buluang; Maria Princess May Sampan of Sampan Pawnshop in Poblacion; Danielle Ozaraga of Compostela Sci-Tech — Cogon; Geraline Responte of Paradise, Poblacion; Mary Joy Dinopol of Barangay Tubigan, Jack Jims Arias of Barangay Magay and Cherry Mae Selanoba of Bali-bali, Cogon. In the Big Division, the finalists are Jade Cadampog of Guiwanon, Poblacion; Phillip Capul of Sampan Pawnshop of Poblacion; Jomarie Ababon of Raysland, Cogon; Janley Jude Vadal of Bagalnga; Juanimel Pugoy of Estaca; Kiery Sigayle of Rotunda, Poblacion; Jade Catalan of Seaside, Poblacion and Jean Alphonsine Means of Tres Palmas, Hi-ka, Poblacion.
The Fiesta Committee on Search for Singing Stars is chaired by Luis T. Reyes, Jr., with Jessica Kakai Pumar, Dodith Miñoza-Gonzales, Julie Miñoza and Nick Acaso as members.
