Martin collaborates with Pops in new all-covers CD

CEBU, Philippines – Beyond his tremendous success as a singer, Martin Nievera has earned a reputation as the country’s concert king and has released more award-winning albums one artist could have in a span of more than two decades. Another proof of devotion to his craft, the country’s concert king does his unique version of a string of timeless classics from 80s to 90s in his brand-new album called “For Always,” released by PolyEast Records and now available in all record bars.

Now Martin is back with a new release for 2009 with an all-covers CD called “For Always.” It boasts of the kick-off single that is Martin’s version of “Maybe This Time,” a song we won’t forget when two friends meet again originally popularized by Michael Murphy. MAYBE THIS TIME once again is playing on the radios with Martin’s inspiring voice over love-is-sweeter-the-second-time-around hit in the 80s.

The new CD “For Always” collects Martin’s own renditions of all-time favorites—from songwriter-singer Richard Marx’s Now and Forever to a so-familiar song from the legendary group America, All My Life. You can sing along to Martin’s revival of the songs Old Photographs popularized by Jim Capaldi; All At Once, a Whitney Houston hit; Sometimes When We Touch by Dan Hill; I’ll Always Love You by Michael Johnson; an all-time favorite Peter Cetera hit After All; Bryan Adams’ Heaven and (Everything I Do) I Do It For You; Heaven Knows by Rick Price; Survivor’s The Search Is Over and the soulful The Last Time by Eric Benet.

“For Always” truly lives up to its album title as Martin marks his 27th year under the spotlight. The album highlights another collaborative work made by Martin with the concert queen Pops Fernandez with a perfect song Reunited, a majestic ballad about lovers getting back together and a Peaches and Herb pop hit in the 80s.
