Kitchie, together with her band, performed the brand new Love Ko 'To anthem live for the very first time before the jam-packed party area filled with McDonald's media friends, curious customers and fans of the lady rocker.
"We are very excited about Kitchie's new twist on the McDonald's Love Ko 'To signature song. Kitchie has the wholesome appeal and likeability to attract our target demographic that includes teens, young adults and even kids," said Margot Torres, McDonald's vice president for marketing.
The live mini-concert first saw Kitchie perform eight of her most popular songs, including smash hits like Same Ground, Bulong and her phenomenal chart topping single Wag na Wag Mong Sasabihin.
Kitchie's 'live at McDo' performance reached fever pitch as she performed the McDonald's Love Ko 'To song.
According to Kitchie, the song articulates her personality and relationship with her fans. She was so amazed by how everything went.
"Unbelievable! I didn't think we were gonna pull it off but we did!" exclaimed an ecstatic Kitchie after her initial McDonald's Love Ko 'To performance. "I think [the audience] was a bit surprised because my version had a lighter, pop-rock vibe to it," she added.
More ambitious than the regular jingle, Kitchie's new McDonald's Love Ko 'To Song is a firm departure from the version previously rendered by American Idol finalist Jasmine Trias.
From a rousing ballad, Kitchie transforms the song into an edgier, pop-infused number with solid rock n' roll hooks, up-tempo beats and guitar-driven melody. She brings down the house with her invigorating "papara-pa-pa love ko 'to" rendition.
Kitchie's co-lyricist Ray Tiempo, an advertising copywriter, discloses that the new version was inspired by Kitchie's grounded approach to fame, success and her life. Because despite her countless awards, sold out gigs and platinum records, she remains very accessible and surprisingly normal.
Aside from being the new voice of McDonald's, the alternative goddess is also rocking to the crispy and zesty goodness of McDonald's Twister Fries.
The full-length version of the McDonald's "Love Ko 'To" song can be heard on the radio and in all 250 McDonald's restaurants. In Metro Cebu, they're at Jones-Fuente, JY Square Lahug, Cebu South Road, Colon, SM City Cebu, Ayala Center Cebu and Mactan.
It will be part of Kitchie's follow up to her self-titled debut album. The McDonald's Love Ko 'To CD which includes the original track, minus one and acoustic version will also be available in record stores soon.
