Quick tire check

CEBU, Philippines - The most important reason why we should check our tires regularly is safety. When your tire treads are worn, your car may respond poorly at high speeds or in adverse weather conditions like rain and mud. With Good treads, your car will grip to the road better thus insuring better car control. Insufficient tire treads are illegal in many US States, but in the Philippines, although we have a law against these, it is somehow never policed.

Points to remember in checking your tires;

1) Excessive wear in the middle of the tire tread indicates over inflation.

2) Excessive wear in the shoulders of the tire tread indicates under inflation.

3) Uneven tread wear indicates poor well alignment.

4) Excessive tread wear on one side of the shoulder signals incorrect Camber Angle.

5) If the treads in the outside look knobby and delaminated, it may be a sign of toe-in problems.

There are many Tire Centers that render check-up services free of charge. Have your tires check every 6 months. Remember, worn out tires make other parts of your car wear prematurely, not to mention your safety. (FREEMAN)
