CEBU, Philippines - Chevron Philippines, Inc. is going to expand its partnership with the 7-Eleven Corporation by opening at least 13-15 convenience stores at the existing stations located in Cebu.

In an interview with Chevron Philippines district manager for Philippine provincial retail district Larry Tiglao, he said by the end of July this year, six sites of Caltex gas stations in Cebu will have an anchor 7-eleven convenience store, such as in Mango Avenue, Maguikay in Mandaue City, A.S. Fortuna, and North Reclamation Area.

By the end of this year, the company is looking at opening 15 7-Elevens within an existing Caltex gas station, Tiglao said.

A synergy of both global brands, 7-Eleven and Chevron started its partnership in 2009 and now 30 Caltex gas stations in Metro Manila have 7-Eleven convenience store.

Aside from improving its service and efficiency to customers, Tiglao said the stiff competition in the fuel retail and distribution in the Philippines is getting tougher and that its partnership with 7-Eleven is expected to boost the brand’s bid to provide world-class service and product offers.

In Cebu, there are a total of 33 Caltex gas stations, Tiglao said the company is currently considering plans to build more stations. Before the end of this year, at least one of two will be opened in Cebu that are retailer-managed operations.

By 2013, Tiglao said Chevron is looking at opening three to five new Caltex gas stations in Cebu. This will add to the over 800 Caltex gas stations nationwide.

Tiglao and other executives from Chevron Philippines was in Cebu recently to intensify its campaign and promotions in further penetrating its brand in the province, recognizing Cebu’s obvious lead in economic growth.

The Chevron team reiterated the promotion of its raffle promo giving away brand new car dubbed” Cool Roadtrip Getaway” with Isuzu D-Max National promo, whch runs from July 1 to SFor every P500-worth of fuel and lubricant product purchased, Caltex customers nationwide get a chance to win a 4x2 LS MT Isuzu Dmax, plus a P20,000-worth of Caltex fuel (StarCash) to be raffled weekly starting July 19 to September 13.

To qualify, a customer must claim his 10-digit number anytime during the promo period but only at the Caltex station where the purchase was made.

A Caltex ten-digit number is generated per P500-worth of fuel purchased in a single receipt transaction, which will then produce a thermal receipt that will serve as customer’s raffle promo.
