Looking at the rising demand for upgraded information and communication technology gadgets, an international display manufacturer is looking at a growing market share in the country.
Having achieved a 26 percent year-on-year growth rate in the Philippines for the first quarter, AOC, an international brand of display monitors projects an increasing growth rate this year despite the downtrend of demand in line with the rising inflation.
AOC is a registered trademark and house brand under the TPV group (Technology Limited) which is currently the world’s largest display solution provider and an original design manufacturer (ODM) of computer monitors, desktops and LCD screens.
In a press conference held recently, Martie Wei from the TPV Technology Group sales division in Taipei said that for the past years, AOC has improved its quality and style as now it is considered as the 7th brand worldwide according to an IDC report in 2007.
Wei said that they have dominated the market in Brazil and China having earned 31 percent and 28 percent of market share in these countries in the PC set and monitors segment, respectively.
She added that since AOC focuses its core competency on monitors and displays as it comprises 30 percent of TPV’s production, they have a big advantage in comparison to other known brands in the market that also carries other product lines.
Richard Ching, CEO of Glee Electronics, Inc., the national distributor of AOC said that as effects of the soaring inflation in the country, their sales performance have dropped at around 10 to 15 percent in the last few months.
However Ching stressed that despite this situation, they are still confident to achieve the targeted growth rate of 15 to 20 percent year-on-year this year in the Philippines.
As for its Visayas and Mindanao operations, AOC’s exclusive distributor MDR Microware Sales, Inc. president Manuel L. Dy, Jr. assessed that AOC has gained huge market share in the area as it is very visible in internet cafes all over the Vis-Min.
Having been hailed as number one in the world market for wide LCD monitors, AOC strengthens its presence in the country with the introduction of all new designs of LCD televisions in the market for the first time.
Just recently AOC also launched in Cebu its new series of LCD TVs that include four new units called as: Avio, Zifas, Rivio, and Toriba.
Avio LCD monitor is complete with built in digital entertainment gadgets as it offers premium picture quality for graphic-intensive applications.
Zifas is a 22 inches widescreen LCD monitor with a flexible Z-shaped stand that is able to completely fold. With its VGA and HDMI inputs, the unit can perform as a PC monitor and a high definition video display.
Rivio on the otherhand has a unique design facet as it has an integral media player that enables users to play videos, music and slideshows even when their PC is off or disconnected.
Meanwhile the Toriba has a so-called “smile curve” design with cable management cover for a clean and kept wiring devices which comes with a Vesa Mount Ring for easier display on the wall.
These newly launched units will be available for distribution in the country in between end of September and early October.
