SME portal kicks off national tour in Cebu

With the aim of promoting information technology use and building confidence in web-based marketing practices among the small and medium entrepreneurs, web portal manager and e-business solution provider— SME.com.ph have started its nationwide tour in Cebu.

Dubbed as “Bringing Global e-business Solutions to the Filipino Entrepreneur,” the national tour kicked off at the Cebu International Convention Center. It was conducted in cooperation with Globe Telecom and is aimed to cover Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao areas for over 15 key cities that include: Pangasinan, Zambales, Pampanga, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, Las Piñas, Marikina, Makati and Quezon cities in Metro Manila as well as Iloilo and Davao.

The nationwide tour strives to provide SMEs with opportunity to learn and explore new software, technology-based business solutions like the SME Toolkit for managing borderless markets.

The SME.com.ph is a product of SME, Solutions, Inc., a joint venture established in June 2000 and was powered by World Bank’s International Finance Corporation and the country’s largest private SME development Bank— Planters Development Bank.

According to its President Adonis C. Yap, SME.com.ph is a one-stop web portal that aims to promote confidence in e-business, internet use and technology to Filipino SMEs in order for this sector to become globally competitive and grow in their business ventures. – Rhia de Pablo
