MANILA, Philippines - Gionee recently opened its first concept store in Metro Manila at the SM Megamall Cyberzone area. The launching was held last Oct. 23, where several new smartphone models were also introduced.
Michael Bangayan, president of Belexis Concepts Inc., said they were excited to open their first store in Metro Manila, which he said was still the biggest market for smarthpones in the country, with a big population of tech consumers especially their target niche of those wanting affordable mobile phones that have the latest popular features.
The first Gionee concept store was opened by Belexis at the Gaisano Mall in Davao City last March.
“Even with the advent of online shopping, we know that Filipinos still love to touch and see in person the products they want to purchase,” said Bangayan. “At our concept store, you don’t have to worry about buying a precious item like a smartphone without knowing how it works. You will be able to tinker with the unit you’re eyeing before purchasing.”
Carrying the brand’s official colors and decorated with minimalist interiors, the concept store is designed with both the tech-savvy and the tech amateurs in mind. Gionee’s line of high-end smartphones and affordable mobile phones will be on display, as well as essential accessories that go with those.
Gionee first made waves in the global market when it launched the Elife S5.5, the world’s slimmest smartphone, as declared by CBS Interactive ZOL. The Elife S5.5 remains to be a strong contender in the high-end smartphone arena, and more so now with its free upgrade to Android Kitkat 4.4.
Gionee’s Concept Store is located at the Cyberzone area at the fourth floor of SM Megamall, and is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sundays to Thursdays and from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
