New LED TVs designed for the Filipinos

- The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines – Everybody naturally wants to have a big TV for a cinematic experience in their homes. Most Filipino households, however, are not large or spacious enough to house such large-screen TVs.

In this regard, Skyworth manufactures its LED TVs with atypical dimensions because, as it says, these are the optimal sizes for typical Filipino households.

Skyworth LED TVs, depending on the model, are available in 19-inch, 22-inch, 23-inch, 24-inch, 29-inch, 32-inch 34-inch, 42-inch, 46-inch, and 50-inch screen sizes.

Skyworth Philippines general manager Victor Wan recommends the 24-inch and 29-inch as the ones best suited for common Filipino households, not just for their sizes but also for their value.

Wan gives assurance that Skyworth never skimps on the value of its Tvs, especially with features.

“Even the smallest one still has most of the key and best features of the biggest ones such as a USB slot, headset plug, and PC connectivity,” he says. Moreover, Skyworth always emphasizes the affordability of its products. “Our TVs may be one inch smaller, but it costs P10,000 less. Plus, you still get to enjoy the same features of top-of-the-line LED TVs or maybe even better,” he adds.

Skyworth has taken into account the needs of its customers in determining what features will go into the products it develops. One such example is what Wan refers to as the “Bedroom Baby” TV.

According to him, most households usually have two TVs at home: one in the living room and another in the bedroom. But considering the instances when, for example, the wife already wants to go to sleep but the husband still wants to watch TV, the Skyworth Bedroom Baby features a headset jack so that the husband can still enjoy whatever he is watching without disturbing his sleeping wife.

Skyworth also guarantees excellent after-sales service. It has what it calls the “Sweet Smile” customer service where clients will always be greeted with a sweet smile in any of its customer service centers.

Skyworth LED TVs are also considered “healthy Tvs” because it consumes 40 to 45 percent less electricity. Wan says LED technology generally has lower power consumption compared with older types of TV technologies such as LCDs and CRTs and is more durable and longer lasting.

“This is why as part of our environmental consciousness plan, we have completely stopped manufacturing LCDs and only LED TVs,” Wan says.

Skyworth is a Hong Kong-based electronics manufacturing company whose products are marketed worldwide. It also manufactures tablet computers and smartphones, among others, but it is currently focused on establishing its LED TVs in the Philippine market.
