15,000 dining reviews at OpenRice

-

MANILA, Philippines - More and more food establishments are opening in Metro Manila and in key cities all over the country, a result of the renewed Filipino entrepreneurial spirit and the popularity of franchising.

A parallel growth is also happening on the Internet with the mushrooming of food blogs and restaurant portals as an answer to the markets’ demand.

Openrice.com, a food portal and dining guide that was launched last year, has become a favorite of foodies because of its 15,000 reviews of more than 24,000 restaurants across the Philippines.

It’s a unique dining portal that encourages visitors to become part of its community who write and share their reviews of restaurants they tried as a way to inspire “bayanihan” online in guiding others choose the best place to eat.

Openricers, as the members are called, have already gotten used to taking photos of their food before enjoying their meal. Not only do they express their appreciation in words but also in photos.

OpenRice.com now serves as the Pinoys’ newest hub for sharing and getting information about food and restaurants in Metro Manila, Cebu and other provinces.

“We invite more food lovers to share their real and honest dining experiences with OpenRice.com. We will definitely not stop at 15,000,” says Leah Cabalde-Fajardo, business manager of OpenRice Philippines.

Openrice.com started in 1999. It belongs to the growing network of JDB Holdings Ltd.
