Aboitiz signs up for Yapster e-Learning program

-
Aboitiz & Co. Inc. recently signed up for Yapster e-Learning Inc.’s education and training system beginning this year.

The emerging role of e-learning as a major corporate strategic tool is not lost on Aboitiz & Co. Inc. (ACO). With the primary goal of optimizing workforce performance, the company signed up for a tailor-made training program with Yapster e-Learning.

ACO employees will soon be provided access to updated and relevant business courses identified to supplement current knowledge, skills and experience through the company’s local network.

In addition, with Yapster e-Learning’s system, lower education and training costs are achieved.

ACO is the holding company of the Aboitiz Group of Companies whose business interests are spread across several Philippine industries – power, banking, food production, transportation and logistics, real estate development, industrial production, construction and industrial trading.

Txabi Aboitiz, ACO vice president for quality and development, completed several months of evaluation of different education and training offerings before awarding a contract for an e-learning training program to Yapster e-Learning.

Yapster e-Learning was introduced in November 2000 and has since grown its library to over 1,200 business and IT courses. Special focus is placed on ensuring that courseware included in Yapster e-Learning’s library is current, timely and reliable.

The multimedia methodology employed by Yapster e-Learning has been proven by WR Hambrecht + Co. to be highly engaging and can increase retention rates by as much as 50-60 percent, while, at the same time, speed up the learning curve by 50 percent.

"Opening up e-learning opportunities to our team is part of our life-long learning strategy," Aboitiz said. "I am excited to see where this takes us."
