After successful demonstrations of the TrackMe ACes system to a group of chief executives in the petroleum and logistics businesses, FindMe LBS is working on a pilot project to involve the tracking of approximately 20 trucks.
With TrackMe ACes, companies can track their Global Positioning System (GPS)-equipped vehicles using the ACeS satellite communications network.
If successful, TrackMe ACes will be installed in thousands of vehicles plying the Indonesian highways and sealanes. FindMe LBS also plans to expand the service throughout Asia.
The ACeS satellite is owned by ACeS International Ltd., a consortium whose members include the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co., Lockheed Martin Global Communications (USA), Pasifik Satellit Nusantara (Indonesia) and Jasmine International Overseas Co. Ltd. (Thailand).
The GPS, on the other hand, is a constellation of satellites orbiting the Earth. It is owned and operated by the United States Department of Defense. It enables a GPS-compatible receiver to get its coordinates, heading, speed, time and date.
This information is then transmitted through various communication networks that allow remote tracking of these devices. The GPS has global coverage and anyone with a GPS receiver can get location information of up to 10-50 meter accuracy.
To date, FindMe LBS is the only company in the world that offers GPS tracking solutions using the ACeS satellite. It has existing tracking services that use GSM networks and radio networks.
In the near future, FindMe will bring this technology to ordinary people with its basic tracking devices accessible via regular Internet connection and mobile phones.
FindMe LBS is part of eLopez Solutions, which consolidates the Lopez Groups portfolio of globally competitive technology companies involved in software development, call center services and location-based services.
