Inventors set to open Onestore Hub

Rainier Allan Ronda - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines – The Filipino Inventors Society Producers Cooperative will tie up with the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) to turn the FISPC’s showroom in Quezon City into a OneStore Hub.

Francisco Pagayon, FISPC president, and engineer Sancho Mabborang, DOST Region 2 director and officer-in-charge of the department’s onestore.ph program, have discussed the terms for the project, wherein the FISPC business center and showroom at the corner of Quezon Avenue and West Avenue in Quezon City will also showcase and be a distribution center for products of Filipino micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) being assisted by the DOST.

Pagayon said the discussion is expected to result in the signing of a memorandum of agreement with the DOST this month.

Science Secretary Fortunato dela Peña earlier ordered the DOST onestore.ph program to also cover the products of Filipino inventor-entrepreneurs.

Dela Peña said that the products of the FISPC should be uploaded on the onestore.ph website, mobile app, as well as onestore.ph Hubs or traditional brick-and-mortar stores.

“Putting the ingenious and very interesting products of our Filipino inventors on Onestore (website and mobile app) will help bring their products to the awareness not only of Filipino consumers but, since Onestore is on the internet, of shoppers all over the world,” Dela Peña said.
