PCOMS sets exam for associate fellowship

MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (PCOMS), the only oral and maxillofacial surgery group affiliated with the Philippine Dental Association, Asian Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, will conduct the first part of its annual qualifying examination for associate fellowship on Sept. 9 at Room 304, DLS-STI (Delos Santos) Medical Center from 1 to 6 p.m.

Members of the examination committee are Drs. Joven Javier (chairman), Mario Esquillo, Gary Brillo, Robert Tajonera and Jaime Aldecoa. According to PCOMS president Ida Inductivo-Balanag, the associate fellowship is a pre-requisite to qualify for full fellowship.

All dentists interested to take the examination are advised to coordinate with membership chairman Dr. Carmelo Gepigon at 0922-8010796.

Requirements for examinees are: letter of intent, curriculum vitae, diploma in dentistry, PRC certificate of registration, updated PRC ID, certificate of good standing in the Philippine Dental Association (PDA), at least three years in practice, proof of at least 15 minor oral surgery cases, and examination fee of P1,000.
