C.O.R.E. donates Ellesse jackets to Red Cross

MANILA, Philippines - In support of the selfless acts that Philippine Red Cross (PRC) volunteers go through, C.O.R.E. or Center for Outdoor Recreation and Expedition, the advocacy arm of the Primer Group of Companies, recently partnered with Ellesse Italia for a worthwhile sponsorship.

Ellesse Italia, a popular sportswear and footwear brand from Italy, is a member of the Primer Group of Companies. It was more than happy to take part in this timely and worthwhile cause.

At least 294 Ellesse jackets worth P278,000 was donated by Ellesse Philippines through Leslie Santos of Ellesse, and Kristine Villaflor and Cy Benedicto of C.O.R.E.

The donation was received by Archie Molos, PRC-Manila chapter representative for community health and nursing services.

In its 63 years of existence, the PRC has remained a reputable institution, which continues to cope with changes in order to help more Filipinos in need.

While its primary function used to be providing much-needed blood donations and assist in disaster-stricken areas, the PRC has also made it its duty to also focus its efforts on providing a holistic approach in uplifting the condition of the most vulnerable.

From short-term solutions, the PRC now has a wider range of humanitarian services like preventive medicine, therapeutic counseling, and youth leadership.

Currently, the PRC provide six major services: blood services, disaster management services, safety services, community health and nursing services, social services, and volunteer services, which all embody the fundamental principles of the International Red Cross and the Red Crescent Movement — humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, unity, and universality.

These values, in turn, guide and inspire all Red Cross staff and volunteers in making these more than just a philosophy but a way of life.

The Primer Group of Companies, through C.O.R.E., share the same ideals. In spite of more efforts concerning environmental conservation, protection, and promotion, C.O.R.E. is also active when it comes to concerns that support nation-building.
