For 3rd year, Maxicare tops Phl HMO industry

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Maxicare Healthcare Corp., one of the pioneer health maintenance organizations in the Philippines, was ranked No. 1 in the HMO industry in Business World’s recently released list of Top 1000 Corporations in the Philippines for 2011.

This is the third year that the HMO provider leads the industry in terms of gross revenues.

Since its inception in 1987, Maxicare Healthcare Corp. has successfully grown to become one of the key players in the HMO industry in the Philippines.

Now 25 years in the business, the corporation’s strong financial foundation, credible medical network and excellent customer service made it a reliable healthcare partner to its individual and family customers and corporate clients from the SME segment to local and multinational corporations nationwide.

Since 2007, Maxicare has shown five straight years of financial growth with rank of 628 in 2007, 557 in 2008, 411 in 2009, and 406 in 2011 in Business World’s Top 1000 Corporations list.

Not only that, for three straight years from 2009 to 2011, Maxicare consistently ranked No. 1 in terms of gross revenues under the pre-need plan for health category.

Maxicare takes pride in having over 30,000 accredited doctors and specialists, and more than 1,000 accredited clinics and hospitals nationwide, which offer convenience and accessibility to more than 700,000 members.

Members are also provided with extended customer service through Maxicare’s own clinics called Primary Care Centers, satellite offices in key provincial cities, customer care help desks, roving customer care specialists, and clinics in major clients’ offices.

Customer relations are also enhanced through its website where members, corporate clients, and medical providers can access details on their membership and account information, and perform other online services.

Apart from that, Maxicare has evolved from delivering standard HMO products to offering prepaid health cards such as MyMaxicare LITE, an inpatient healthcare service covering six common diseases, and EReady, which covers emergency cases.

This product innovation makes Maxicare’s services easily accessible to a wider range of members, further improving healthcare for more Filipinos.

“Maxicare has always been persistent in its pursuit for excellence. This successful track record validates our commitment to be the best player in the HMO industry by providing superior healthcare services to our members,” said Armi Malaluan, vice president for sales and marketing of Maxicare Healthcare Corp.

“We are honored and grateful for this recognition. We assure our valued Maxicare customers that we will continue to work harder and maintain our standards of service,” Malaluan said.

Maxicare Healthcare Corp. is part of the Equicom Group, a diversified conglomerate engaged in information technology, computer services, banking, financial and leasing services, and healthcare.
