Building strengths and family bonds with healthy teeth

MANILA, Philippines - Ever wondered why kids grow up well-rounded and happy? Having a strong and healthy relationship with their parents is the key.

With that in mind, Lotte Xylitol, in partnership with the Philippine Dental Association (PDA), is continuously promoting good oral health among kids via a series of school tours nationwide. It even participated in Poveda College’s Family Day held recently at the school grounds.

Kids and parents were treated to interesting “infotainment” in the form of the “Perfect Smile,” a dance number featuring Life in Tooth Town with main characters such as the Tooth Patrollers, Captain D and kids who protect the town from being invaded by Bad Bacteria that cause tooth decay.

Integrated in this dance number is the special participation of the chairman of the PDA’s Committee on Dental Public Health, Dr. Angelo Fernandez.

In a skit, Fernandez espoused the value of getting into the 4 Habits of Good Oral Hygiene, such as eating a healthy and well-balanced diet; brushing, flossing and chewing a dental health gum; brushing with fluoride-based toothpaste; and visiting the dentist once or twice a year.

An educational board was also exhibited to inform the public about Lotte Xylitol, its ingredient xylitol, and its beneficial role in the re-mineralization of teeth.
