US safety engineers' group now has an Asian chapter

MANILA, Philippines - Filipino safety professionals and practitioners have banded together to form the Asian Chapter of the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE). 

The new international chapter will have its secretariat office at the 14th floor, Tower One and Exchange Plaza, Ayala Avenue, Makati City. 

The official recognition will be on Aug. 24 during the chapter’s first technical symposium at the Occupational Safety and Health Center along Agham Road in Quezon City.

Jitu Patel, founder of the ASSE-Middle East Chapter and a high-ranking official of the US-based Society, will preside over the induction of the charter officers and members and the handing over of the official recognition of the Asian Chapter.

The symposium will also tackle relevant topics on safety culture and behavior as a global challenge. Resource speakers will come from the US, Singapore and the Philippines.

Interested participants may also accomplish an application form at the symposium and become a Society member and be able to join the worldwide network of safety advocates.
