Caltrate bone screening on 4th year

MANILA, Philippines - Stand tall and get your bone screened! 

Wyeth Consumer Healthcare, a division of Wyeth Philippines Inc., is inviting women aged 25 and above to the launching of its Caltrate Plus Bone Screening at the Lim Ket Kai Mall in Cagayan de Oro City on Saturday.

Wyeth also launched the event at the SM Mall of Asia last March 21, and at the Ayala Center Cebu the following day.

This year’s theme is “Magandang tindig, Matangkad ang dating.”

Now on its fourth year, the Caltrate Plus Bone Screening event is held annually to raise awareness on bone health and the dangers of osteoporosis. 

At the same time, the event encourages women to adopt preventive efforts against osteoporosis, a silent disease, at a young age by taking calcium supplements such as Caltrate Plus.

Wyeth turns this year’s bone screening activity into an exciting and fun-filled event, especially designed for women. 

The mall activity features tall and attractive female models wearing shirts printed with the statement: “Pag maganda ang tindig, matangkad ang dating.”  

Participants will be screened for their arm bone density using a state-of-the-art machine called Sunlight Omnisense 8000S, the only portable bone assessment device in the country today, patented and developed for diagnosing and monitoring osteoporosis.

Osteoporosis is a condition in which bone mass decreases and causes bone to become more susceptible to fracture. It is often referred to as the “silent disease” because it can progress without symptoms until a fracture occurs usually in the hip, spine or wrist.

Since calcium is one of the most important constituents of the bone, the role of calcium intake in the development and treatment of osteoporosis plays an important factor.

Caltrate Plus contains 600 mg of elemental calcium, 200 IU of vitamin D3, plus bone fortifying minerals magnesium, zinc, copper, and manganese to assist in preventing and treating osteoporosis. It is available at leading drugstores and supermarkets nationwide.
