Identifying kids’ nutrition needs

-

Parents often make jokes about how they wish that their kids would never get to grow up so they can enjoy cuddling them longer.

Unfortunately, kids grow fast and the least that parents can do is to ensure that they are provided with the nutritious foods that will help them grow and develop at their full potential.

The World Health Organization (WHO) maintains that children from everywhere in the world can meet a comparable standard of height and weight development since their nutritional needs are essentially the same. The key to this growth is to give children optimal nutrition, proper health care and a healthy environment.

Foods rich in proteins include meats, eggs, grains, legumes, and dairy products. Proteins are good for the muscles, organs, and the immune system.

Vitamins and minerals can be found in many fruits and vegetables. These are responsible for supporting growth and development as well as helping body cells and organs function properly.

Dietary fat is a good source of energy and essential fatty acids. It improves the absorption of vitamins A, D, E and K. A good source of dietary fat is mayonnaise, which contain polyunsaturated fats like Omega 3 and Omega 6.

Sandwiches with meat, vegetables and mayonnaise, for example, will be a good nutritious snack for kids whether at school or after playtime. Kids are known to be particular about taste and flavor of their food.
