The seminar is part of the 93rd UPCD Foundation Week celebration that opens on Feb. 4. It is hosted by the UPCD Silver Jubilarians (Class 1983), the UP Dental Alumni Association (UPDAA), and UPCD as an offering to the UP Centennial celebration. All dentists and dental students from different dental schools are invited to participate.

On the first day, Grisdale will talk on “Treatment vs Prevention: New Insights on Common Oral Conditions” at the UPCD Auditorium, Pedro Gil corner
Grisdale believes there is no “trap door” at the neck that separates oral health and the health of the rest of the body. He will expound on the role of dentists as healthcare professionals.
Among others, he will give an overview of biofilm, commonly encountered oral conditions, the consequences of untreated oral problems, prevention strategies, and treatment modalities.
He will also discuss “Treatment Planning and Principles for Implant Dentistry” that will familiarize dentists with implant selection and maintenance to expand their practice.
The second day lecture will be on “Predictable Bone Grafting and Guided Tissue Regeneration” to help dental practitioners prevent bone loss and maintain bone structure for the long-term stability of implants. This will be held at the main ballroom of
Other highlights of the UPCD Foundation Week celebration are the launching of the Centennial Room and the opening of the Class of ’83 Art and Photo Exhibit.
On Feb. 8, activities include the recognition of jubilarians and a testimonial for recent licensure examination topnotchers and passers of the college.
Grisdale is an active lecture and author of numerous scientific publications in the area of dental implants, bone regeneration, and tissue adhesives.
