Addressing prevalent skin disorders

-
There are over a thousand known skin disorders, the most common of which are bruises, scars, and varicose veins.

Scientific research shows that there are two types of varicose veins: primary and secondary varicose veins. Primary varicose veins develop without any apparent reason. Secondary varicose veins, on the other hand, result from deep vein thrombosis that block deep veins, tumors in the pelvis that press leg veins, or congenital vein and artery problems.

Scars, also a common skin disorder that can occur in almost any part of the human body, appear in different shapes and sizes. Scars oftentimes result from trauma, surgical operations, burns, skin infections or acne.

Bruises are caused by injuries to blood vessels which lead to collection of blood onto surrounding skin tissues. This results in blood clot formation.

To address the health risks and aesthetic problems caused by these highly prevalent skin disorders, Hirudoid, the most effective medication for the treatment of the early stages of varicose veins and other skin disorders like scars and bruises, has been made available in the local market.

The efficacy of Hirudoid is due to an active ingredient called Muccopolysaccharide Polysulfate or MPS, which is known to have anticoagulant, antithrombotic, and anti-inflammatory effects.

Diethelm (Philippines) Inc. brand manager Raymond Hernandez says Hirudoid treats specific skin disorders "by improving blood flow, improving the skin’s moisturizing capacity, and promoting tissue regeneration."

"The MPS in Hirudoid improves the condition of skin tissue and helps in the retention of moisture and hydration," he adds.

Also proof of Hirudoid’s efficacy is the medicine’s ability to penetrate directly into the location of the skin disorder, its ability to be absorbed 50 times better than other brands, and its regenerative effect on skin tissue.

Moreover, Hirudoid reduces scars by improving blood flow, softening hardened scars, increasing flexibility, and improving its color.

Diethelm (Philippines) Inc., a unit of Swiss company DKSH, is the distributor of Hirudoid in the Philippines.

Diethelm is one of the leading distributors of pharmaceutical and consumer products in the country. The Hirudoid brand is owned by Medinova, a division of Diethelm.

DKSH specializes in sourcing, marketing, logistics and distribution. A leading services group in Asia, DKSH is the preferred partner of companies expanding business operations in complex and demanding markets.

Hirudoid is available in leading drug stores nationwide in the following variants and prices: Hirudoid cream 14 tube (P241.43), Hirudoid cream 40 tube (P524.64), Hirudoid gel 14 tube (P248.06), and Hirudoid gel 40 tube (P534.59).
