Forum on pulmonary symptoms of Parkinson’s

The Parkinson’s Support Group of the Philippines (PSGP) Foundation will hold its next meeting on Nov. 13 at 12 noon at the 14th floor auditorium of the Cathedral Heights Building Complex (CHBC) South Tower of St. Luke’s.

The meeting is free and open to the public, and is being sponsored by Servier Philippines and St. Luke’s Medical Center.

Founded in 1999, the PSGP is a registered non-profit organization that aims to provide information to families and patients with Parkinson’s disease, parkinsonism, tremor, dystonia, and other movement disorders about their affliction.

Its founding chairman was the late former Vice President Emmanuel Pelaez.

The guest speaker in the upcoming PSGP meeting is prominent pulmonary specialist Dr. Rommel Tipones of the Philippine General Hospital.

Tipones will discuss the various pulmonary or lung symptoms that patients with Parkinson’s disease and parkinsonian syndromes often complain about, and the remedies for those.

This will be followed by an open forum to be moderated by PSGP adviser and movement disorders specialist Dr. Virgilio Gerald Evidente.

For more information, interested parties can contact the PSGP at (02) 631-1531 or the Movement Disorders Center of St. Luke’s at (02) 727-5552.
