A Smart Corner for mothers

To further promote its vision of creating a new generation of brain-enhanced children, or the Gen-E kids, Mead Johnson extends the importance of the Smart System of early child development to a wider public by reserving a space in selected maternity and infant boutiques and designating it as the "Smart Corner."
In this Smart Corner, the public can view a three-dimensional gondola filled with interesting facts on how children can grow up mentally stimulated and physically fit through the three components of the Smart System Smart Symphony, Smart Play and Smart Nutrition.
Smart Symphony works on the principle that certain strains of classical music help stimulate babies mental development. The complex rhythms and melodies of classical music may help stimulate brain activities associated with the development of spatial-temporal reasoning, which plays a major role in skills such as math and science.
Studies also suggest that the rhythm, pitch and frequency of music may enhance language acquisition, and may have a calming effect on newborns, increasing their state of relaxed awareness and helping them adjust to life outside the womb.
Smart Play, on the other hand, involves the use of colors red, black and white in patterns that are stimulatingly attractive for newborns. Brain activity increases along with the potential for learning if these patterns are applied in carefully selected toys, accessories and other play items.
Finally, there is Smart Nutrition, which gives emphasis on the proper nutritional ingredients needed by children, and on the right stages of growth at which they should be given. Mead Johnsons Enfa line of milk formulas, such as Enfagrow and Enfakid, contains the vital ingredient docosahexaenoic acid or DHA.
DHA, which is naturally found in breast milk, is a building block of the human brain and retinal tissue, and thus, is recognized by experts to be critical in brain and eye development of babies, from birth onwards.
The Smart Corners can be found in baby specialty stores, such as Baby Land (Alabang Town Center), Chicco (SM North Edsa), Enfant (Festival Mall), Mother Care (Shangri-La), and Osh Kosh BGosh (SM-Megamall).
