A book entitled "National Scientists of the Philippines (1978-1998)" is off the press.
The book aims to promote science and technology awareness, knowledge and ethical values among the general public, particularly elementary pupils and high school and college students.
The National Academy of Science and Technology (NAST), jointly with the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and Anvil Publishing Inc., produced the book to remember and honor the outstanding achievements and lasting contributions of the National Scientists.
Dr. Perla Santos Ocampo, NAST president, said, "The book is our tribute to the countrys National Scientists, the highest honor given by the Philippine government to outstanding Filipino scientists. Our National Scientists must be given credit for setting the directions of scientific inquiry in their areas of endeavor." Rudy A. Fernandez
