“The overall concept of Congo Grille has always been that of being surrounded by a jungle ambiance, with images inspired by African safaris to make their stay in our restaurants a truly memorable experience,” said Carla Villanueva, Congo Grille’s marketing supervisor.
Villanueva revealed that in the construction of the soon-to-open Congo Grille – Trinoma, the restaurant management truly went on the “wild side” to enhance further the trademark ambiance that has made the establishment popular among the weekend dining crowd.
“In the new Congo Grille, we wanted to give a modern take on the restaurant’s signature jungle feel, by merging both rustic and modern elements in the architecture. The result is a plantation rest house layout that makes guests feel as if they will soon embark on a expedition into the
Soriano explained that the design elements made use of old travesia wood and trunks, manila rope, cladded dividers to achieve that rustic feel. Simulated plants and silhouettes of trees help create the illusion of a jungle setting, enhanced even further by the ethnic masks and colorful murals of animals on the windows and walls of the establishment.
The new layout of Congo Grille is now more modern and uncluttered with the tables and chairs placed strategically around the façade of a wooden rest house that conceals the kitchen, bar and other restaurant services.
“The new restaurant’s interior design is really unique since it essentially masks the usual bar and kitchen counter elements of traditional dining establishments. Now guests will see their waiters emerge from the plantation house laden with their orders,” said Soriano.
The plantation house is the newest element of the new Congo Grille design, which is essentially a show kitchen that showcases Congo Grille Chefs at work and highlights the restaurant’s commitment to quality preparation, food safety and sanitation for its loyal patrons.
