Malaysia's F1 circuit comes alive with Michelin Pilot Experience
MANILA, Philippines - Philippine motoring experts will get the chance to try out Malaysia’s world-renowned F1 circuit in Sepang as it hosts more than 500 Michelin customers, journalists and social media commentators from 18 countries who will enjoy the rare opportunity of the Michelin Pilot Experience (MPE).
The Michelin Pilot Sport Experience is an 18-day event that started last August 7 and will make participants experience piloting some of the most competitive circuit racing vehicles in the motorsports arena such as Formula Michelin, Porsche, Renault Clio, Citroen C2 rally cars. They will also get to drive go-karts and ride a 2-seater Formula car piloted by professional racers, complete with total g-Force experience.
First introduced in Europe, the Michelin Pilot Experience was unveiled in Asia at the Sepang International Circuit in 2006. 2006. “The concept of the Michelin Pilot Experience was born as a result of our desire to share our innovation and leadership from the tracks to the road in pushing our tires to the limit in competition. MPE is structured and dedicated to Michelin customers and prescribers to discover the range of our technical innovation in an extreme yet safe driving environment,” said Regis Jeandenand, Michelin Asia Pacific Motorsport Manager.
Driving enthusiasts from 17 countries, including the Philippines, Japan, Vietnam, Australia and South Africa will participate in the Michelin Pilot Experience. It will utilize 4 Renault Clio Cup cars, updated Formula Renault bodies with aerodynamic kits, and two Porsche 996 GT3 Cup cars.
