Superlady's healing recipes helping millions
MANILA, Philippines - When medicines and food supplements fail, miracles and desirable results can simply be found in the food we eat. Many skeptics soon realized that, after more than a million patients were cured and freed from their illnesses, which includes the hopeless cancer and leukemia patients who were refused and rejected by hospitals. The name Superlady was dubbed by her colleague Ely Cruz Ramirez, a veteran radio announcer himself called Mr. Cariñoso after learning about her food invention, a product which he called the “Supercandy”.
She was among the pioneers of alternative medicine in the country, serving as the eye-opener of her generation through her broadcast stint while introducing iridology, nutrition and naturopathy to the masses. With a number of awards and citations received, she was hailed as the mother of medicinal food or “pagkaing-gamot” in the Philippines as she was able to pave the way for food technology, her pioneering discovery that she called Macrobiotic Diet (Great life), to coexist with medicines and even food supplements, as a natural, holistic and effective non-medical approach in the treatment of diseases. Macrobiotic diet emphasizes locally grown whole grain cereals, legumes (nuts), vegetables, seaweed, fermented soy products and fruits, combined into meals according to the principle of balance and harmony with nature.
In an interview she said, “The secret to a healthy body and a longer life is in the food we eat. Diseases are mainly caused by the over-eating of wrong foods and the accumulation of too much food waste inside the body, which in the long run are difficult to eliminate and flush out. What more if you are at your old age? Inevitably, it will turn into cancer. Only detoxification, the radical way of waste elimination is the solution.”
Dr. Elfa uses the ortho-molecular approach, which prescribes natural food for treatment. Her invention of Macrobiotic food preparation technology, wherein she has developed up to one thousand variety of recipes, has become her personalized and non-commercialized commodity in what she has called Macrobiotic Lifestyle Cafe, a restaurant-type product distribution center, where her patrons can avail of her made-to-order and freshly prepared macrobiotic recipe meals made of quality organically-grown vegetables along with her famous “Supercandy” and yellow juice.
“Supercandy”, a fiber-enriched basic food mixture, has made her popular because of the number of benefits that her patients can testify about.
