Young market masters awardees honored

The countrys top young leaders in marketing and entrepreneurship were honored during the awards ceremony of the 1st Young Market Masters Awards (YMMA) held at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) recently. The awards ceremony was the highlight of the 2nd Market Masters Conference.
YMMA seeks to acknowledge young achievers in marketing and entrepreneurship, inspire young people to be innovative entrepreneurs and brand builders, and pave the way for a business-oriented society.
The awardees, all thirty-five (35) years old and below, have proven leadership and expertise in their respective fields. They were chosen over 20 semi-finalists from all over the country.
"YMMA seeks to acknowledge young achievers in marketing and entrepreneurship, inspire young people to be innovative entrepreneurs and brand builders, and pave the way for a business-oriented society. Categories were divided into several industry groups: consumer products, services and business-to-business," says Josiah Go, chairman of Mansmith and Fielders, Inc.
MMA awardee for consumer products brand management is Joseph Charles B. Cruel, senior product manager for Beverage Marketing of Universal Robina Corporation (URC).
Anson S. Dichaves, Regional customer development training Director for Unilever Asia is the awardee for consumer products customer development.
Awarded for Services Entrepreneurship is Ricarte A. Gapuz, Jr., known as the entrepreneur nurse who opened to the Filipinos the doors of opportunity through medical services.
The award for Advocacy Marketing went to Caroline A. Lopez, product manager of Merck Sharp & Dohme (MSD).
YMMA Awardee for business to business is Edison C. Oribiana, business development manager of Charter Chemical and Coating Corporation. Edison is responsible for the companys strategic and early entry into the Do-It-Yourself market through co-branding activities with the leading builders depot chains in the country.
Jade Tulio, vice president for Marketing of HBC, a seasoned executive behind streamlined brand building innovations in retail marketing bagged the YMMA Award for Retail Marketing.
Mansmith and Fielders, Inc., the leader in marketing and sales strategy training, together with the Philippine Franchise Association, the Philippine Retailers Association, TNS Trends, Business World and the Philippine Daily Inquirer realize that there is a need to recognize the young Filipino marketers and entrepeneurs so they can be emulated. This is the reason why together as organizers and sponsors, they launched the 1st Young Market Masters Awards (YMMA).
