Philfoodex to feature best and rarest at Agrilink 2009

-

MANILA, Philippines - Burong hipon (fermented shrimps), canned laing (leafy vegetable in coconut milk), dried fruit cocktail, fish bacon, and many other rare and innovative but highly exportable food products.

Expect to see them all at the pavilion of the Philippine Food Processors and Exporters Organization Inc. (Philfoodex) in Agrilink, Foodlink and Aqualink 2009, which will be held at the World Trade Center Metro Manila on Oct. 8-10.

The Philfoodex pavilion is one of many others annually put up by groups of local and foreign exhibitors at Agrilink, Foodlink and Aqualink, the country’s biggest and most prestigious international integrated trade show on agribusiness, food and aquaculture.

“We are excited to be part of this event and we’re looking forward to brisk business, just like last year,” said Philfoodex president Roberto Amores.

Constituting the Philfoodex pavilion, according to Amores, are 14 food companies whose “exciting” products are expected to attract hordes of visitors during the event’s three-day run.

The 14 companies are Hero Great Bites, Marventure Corp., Hi-Las Marketing Corp., Fisher Farms Inc., See’s Int’l Manufacturing Corp., Marikina Food Corp., Majestic Ham & Food Products, Mega Fishing Corp., Navarro Foods Int’l, Tita Marina’s Bangus Atbp, Toscano Food Industry, Billies Marketing, Master J Food Products, and Gourmet Farms Inc.

Those firms are among the more than 200 members of Philfoodex, a non-stock, non-profit organization of small, medium and large food manufacturers and exporters.

Inspired by local culinary culture and native taste, the Philfoodex exhibits are consistent with Agrilink’s theme “Sustainable Food Production: Focus on the Filipino Market.”

Aside from the international expo, also comprising Agrilink are technology seminars, product demos, marketing presentations, live plant and animal display, wholesale and retail, and many other business activities that generate income opportunities and growth for the agribusiness industry.

Supported by ABS-CBN as media partner, Agrilink 2009 is co-organized by the Foundation for Resource Linkage and Development (FRLD) and some 20 national trade organizations. Inquiries and/or booth reservations can be made with FRLD (tel. 8384549, 8384852, fax 8384573 or email [email protected]).

The event is supported by the Department of Agriculture, National Agricultural and Fishery Council, and Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources
