STI earns more in H1 despite lower enrollment

MANILA, Philippines — Earnings of STI Education Systems Holdings Inc., owner of one of the country’s largest network of private schools, expanded by double digits in the first half of its fiscal year despite total enrollment posting a slight drop.

STI reported a net income of P1.08 billion in the first half ending December 2025, 18 percent higher than the previous year’s P912.2 million.

Gross revenues for the six-month period grew by eight percent to P2.83 billion from  P2.63 billion a year ago.

For the school year 2025 to 2026, the company saw total enrollment decline to 132,941 from the previous school year’s 139,155.

The reduction was attributed to the early start of classes in public junior and senior high schools on June 16, 2025.

STI Education Services Group, the company’s biggest subsidiary, and STI West Negros University commenced classes on July 28, 2025.

Enrollment in tertiary programs, meanwhile, rose to 102,407 from the 101,256 registered in the previous school year.

STI said the number of students enrolled in Commission on Higher Education-regulated programs who opted to remain in the group’s school network increased to 73,421 students, 14 percent more than the number of continuing students in school year 2024 to 2025 at 64,429.

STI West Negros University, located in Bacolod City, recorded a three percent increase in enrollment, bringing its student population to 14,890 in the current school year.

The Philippine School of Business Administration, whose schools are managed by STI Education Services Group, posted a 45-percent hike to 1,583 enrollees from 1,095  a year before.

Enrollment at iACADEMY,  known for its highly specialized programs in computing, business and design, reached 1,899  for the current school year.

STI said various projects such as the design and set-up of a new enrollment system, installation of solar panels and continuous improvement of facilities highlight its focus on providing students with a rich and meaningful learning experience.
