Alphaland makes key changes in executive leadership team

Richmond Mercurio - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Alphaland Corp., the upscale property developer behind the Balesin Island Club, is entering its next chapter of growth with key changes in its executive leadership team starting next month.

In a memorandum obtained by The STAR, Alphaland’s Human Resources department announced changes to the company’s executive leadership team, effective March 1, aimed at positioning the organization for its next phase of growth.

As part of the changes, Alphaland chairman Eric Recto will take on a less involved role due to new professional commitments.

Recto, as such, will take on the position of vice chairman, alongside Michelle Ongpin-Callaghan, who will also be vice chairman.

Former vice chairman Anna Ongpin, meanwhile, will assume the role of chairman of the board.

Additional appointments will also be made to ensure a seamless transition, such as current president Dennis Valdes taking on the role of chief executive officer.

Valdes’ dual role is being made to consolidate the company’s strategic and operational leadership, ensuring that Alphaland remains agile and focused on its core mission.

Joanna Ongpin Duarte will rejoin Alphaland as senior vice president for brand management, where she will establish a dedicated concierge group to strengthen the company’s relationship with its Balesin Key members.

“Joanna comes to us with an impressive and proven track record, and will be instrumental in elevating our brand presence,” the memo stated.

Jose Alejandro Reyes, currently AAl president and CEO and SVP, special assistant to the president, will also take on the additional role of head of leasing for Tower 3 and the mall.

“We are excited about the energy and expertise these changes bring to the organization,” the memo said.
