Marcos revives Mindanao railway project

DAVAO CITY, Philippines — The Marcos administration is bent on reviving the long-stalled Mindanao railway project aimed at connecting the strategic points across the island, the Mindanao Development Authority said.
According to the MDA, there are at least four firms that have expressed interest in implementing the project.
Leo Magno, MDA chairman, said the proposed railway would link Davao City with the cities of Digos, Tagum, Butuan and Cagayan de Oro.
The renewed interest came after nearly 200 residents agreed to a relocation proposal, Magno added.
