Malacañang receives report on Blue Economy
MANILA, Philippines — Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin (center) receives the final report of The Philippine Blue Economy: Moving Forward from Edicio de la Torre (left), president of the Philippine Rural Reconstruction Movement and former Socioeconomic Secretary Cielito Habito (right) of the FVR Legacy Initiative.
The report stems from the results of the roundtable discussions attended by stakeholders of the Philippine blue economy, particularly from the industries of fisheries, aquaculture and marine-based products, energy, marine transport and coastal and marine tourism. Almost 300 participants from all over the country attended the discussions culminating in a plenary attended by Bersamin.
Further strengthening recent pronouncements of Malacanang to support the Blue Economy Act, Bersamin has expressed his commitment to submit said report to President Marcos.
