Bayad, Dragonpay team up to boost e-commerce growth

MANILA, Philippines — Payment solution providers Bayad and Dragonpay Corp. have strengthened their partnership to enhance e-commerce transactions and boost financial inclusion across the country.
Through this collaboration, customers of Dragonpay’s accredited merchants can now conveniently cash in their payments at over 600 Bayad Centers and partner branches nationwide.
Dragonpay merchants can also disburse their income funds at these same payment hubs, offering greater flexibility and accessibility for businesses and consumers alike.
Bayad president and CEO Lawrence Ferrer said there have been remarkable strides in the adoption of e-commerce in the Philippines as several financial institutions work together to boost the country’s payment gateway landscape.
“We partnered with Dragonpay, sharing our mission of empowering both consumers and businesses through convenient, secured and seamless payment and remittance transactions,” Ferrer said.
Dragonpay CEO and founder Robertson Chiang said the partnership aligns with the company’s goal to empower businesses of all sizes by providing them with accessible and reliable payment solutions.
“Our partnership with Bayad aligns with our mission to drive financial inclusion in the Philippines by offering more convenient cash-in and disbursement options nationwide,” Chiang said.

The collaboration is expected to further strengthen the country’s digital payment infrastructure, making transactions more seamless for Filipino consumers and businesses.
Bayad, formerly Bayad Center, is a fintech subsidiary of Manila Electric Co. and is the pioneer brand in the outsourced bills payment collection service in the Philippines, aggregating a multitude of billers into a robust system that is now being used by leading establishments and electronic money institutions across the country.
