MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) has awarded a P4.09-billion five-year contract for lease provision of a web-based app for electronic lotto or “e-lotto” system to Pacific Online Systems Corp.

In a stock exchange filing, Pacific Online said it received from the PCSO a notice of award for the procurement of five-year lease for a web-based application betting platform.

“Pacific Online received on June 19, 2024 a notice from the PCSO informing the corporation that the PCSO board of directors has approved the recommendation of the special bids and awards committee declaring the corporation as the single calculated and responsive bid for the abovementioned project,” the company said.

With the issuance of the notice of award, Pacific Online said it would now be complying with the post-notice of award requirements of the PCSO.

Thereafter, the contract between the company and PCSO covering the terms and conditions of the project will be executed.

PCSO signed in August last year a memorandum of agreement with Pacific Online, making the latter the exclusive system and technology provider for the one-year trial run of e-lotto gaming in the country.

This first ever official web-based application betting platform was made available to fully registered and PCSO-verified players 18 years old and above starting on Dec.15, 2023.

However, PCSO has decided to cut short the one-year test run of the web-based lotto betting app platform, prompting it to initiate a bidding for the five-year contract for lease provision.

Pacific Online is engaged in the development and management of online computer systems, terminals and software for the country’s lottery industry.

It provides technical and market expertise for the distribution of lottery products  in partnership with the state-run PCSO.
