Mitsubishi to roll out XForce compact SUV

Louella Desiderio - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corp. (MMPC) is set to roll out the XForce next month as its contender in the compact sports utility vehicle (SUV) segment.

In a statement, MMPC said the XForce will be launched on July 5.

“In anticipation of strong market demand, MMPC has already prepared its inventory to ensure the all-new Mitsubishi XForce will be available for immediate delivery upon its launch on July 5, 2024,” the automotive firm said.

The five-seater compact SUV was made specifically to cater to customers in Southeast Asia.

Earlier, MMPC said the launch of XForce is expected to support higher sales for the company this year.

MMPC unveiled the Triton pickup truck last January.

Aside from the Triton and XForce, MMPC president and CEO Ritsu Imaeda said earlier that three additional vehicle models would be launched this year.

Data from the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc. and Truck Manufacturers Association showed that MMPC accounted for 18.78 percent of total vehicles sold in the country in the January to May period this year.

Total vehicle sales of MMPC during the period rose by 16.4 percent to 35,146 units from 30,200 units in the same period last year.

MMPC’s sales in May alone climbed by 7.3 percent to 7,318 units this year from the previous year’s 6,822 units.
