MANILA, Philippines — Duty Free Philippines is redefining customer convenience with the introduction of its online shopping platform on February 1.

Through this new platform, DFP, the country’s sole operator of the duty-and-tax-free merchandising system, seeks to enhance customer convenience by allowing overseas Filipino workers, balikbayans and their families to purchase their pasalubong or gifts online.

DFP also eyes to sustain its upward momentum and reach the revenue target of US $167 million by the end of the year, 39% increase from 2023.

“For 2024, we again accept the challenge of increasing ourselves by as much as 64 percent, from USD 102 million to USD 167 million,” DFP chief operating officer Vicente Pelagio Angala said in a statement.

Last month, Angala reported that there was a 53% increase in sales in 2023.

It also showcased local products to international travelers with sales amounting to $3.3 million, a 312% increase from the previous year. DFP, an attached agency of the Department of Tourism, has collaborated with the Department of Trade and Industry to feature Philippine culture and craftmanship.

“We struggled to rise to the occasion but demonstrated out strength and resilience as an organization that can adapt and improve,” he said.

Meanwhile, those who wish to shop via the Duty Free online shopping platform must create an account by registering or logging in on https://dutyfreephilippines.com.ph.

They can browse and pick from wide array of categories and then add them to cart before confirming the order summary and finally, checking out the items.

DFP said it will accept various forms of payment to enhance customer convenience.

These include international credit cards, including Visa and Mastercard; digital wallets such as PayPal, UnionPay and WeChat Pay. 

DFP’s customer service team is also available to address customers queries and concerns through various channels, through Live Chat, messaging via platforms such as Viber, WhatsApp, and Messenger, as well as through email.

Aside from these, DFP also offers mobile support for immediate assistance.

On the other hand, customers who opt for in-store pickup can collect their purchased items at designated Duty Free Philippines Shops within the airport terminals at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1 and 3.
