Solaire to roll out Quezon City casino in 2024

MANILA, Philippines — Integrated casino resorts operator Bloomberry Resorts Corp. is on track with the opening of its casino in Quezon City, its second casino resort in the Philippines.

Solaire Resort North is scheduled to open in March 2024 after being forcefully derailed in March 2020, chairman Enrique Razon said in a recent online interview with broadcast journalist Anthony Taberna.

It would open “in March next year,” he said after its development was interrupted by COVID-19-related lockdowns, which forced the construction workers to go home to their provinces.

The pandemic has also resulted in supply bottlenecks that have caused delays in the delivery of key components for the property.

Solaire Resort North would have a test run before the full opening, Razon said.

Bloomberry operates Solaire Resort & Casino in Parañaque and Jeju Sun Hotel & Casino in Korea.

Another Solaire hotel will rise in Cavite. This project will include a golf course, Razon said. The casino will be smaller compared to Solaire in Parañaque and Quezon City.

Razon earlier told shareholders that the gamers are back as mobility restrictions and international travel have been lifted.

Bloomberry saw its consolidated net income more than double to P8.3 billion in the nine months to September 2023 or up by 106 percent from a year ago.

Net revenuegrew by 33 percent to P36.5 billion.

In the third quarter alone, the company earned P1.9 billion, percent higher than the P1.5 billion net income recorded a year ago on revenue of P10.9 billion, which was up by eight percent.

In the first nine months, total gross gaming revenue was P44.5 billion, higher by 26 percent year-over-year. VIP, mass table, and EGM GGR were P15.1 billion, P14.0 billion, and P15.3 billion, representing year-over-year growth of 29 percent, 14 percent, and 35 percent, respectively.
