ALLTV broadens cable presence
MANILA, Philippines — Manny Villar’s ALLTV has widened its cable presence nationwide by signing a deal with the Philippine Cable and Telecommunication Association Inc. (PCTA).
ALLTV, the official channel of Villar’s Advanced Media Broadcasting System (AMBS), entered into a partnership with the PCTA for the airing expansion of the new network.
ALLTV goes live on Channel 2 on free TV and Planet Cable, Channel 35 on Cignal TV and Sky Cable, Channel 32 on GSAT and Channel 23 on Cablelink.
With the partnership with PCTA, AMBS president Maribeth Tolentino said ALLTV would soon air in nearly 300 other cable TV operators across the Philippines. The network newcomer will bank on this collaboration to introduce its shows even in remote locations.
“The partnership of ALLTV and PCTA is very significant to us because it would allow us to reach more homes, even the far-flung areas in the country. With this, we can reach more people and make more people happy,” Tolentino said.
PCTA president Venancio Lo said the deal signed with AMBS enables another free TV channel to deliver their news and entertainment programs in underserved areas.
“This collaboration between AMBS and PCTA is very timely and I’d like to say that cable TV still plays an important role as far as distributing content or programs like this as we are the last mile in delivering content to the most far-flung areas across the country,” Lo said.
AMBS also signed a content licensing agreement with Cabangon-led CNN Philippines. The partnership allows the local unit of CNN Global to air its news programs on Villar’s network.
For a start, News Night—the flagship news program of CNN Philippines—simulcasts on ALLTV from Monday to Friday at six in the evening.
