German firms seek partners in cold chain industry

MANILA, Philippines — Seven German firms are looking for local partners in the cold chain industry.

In a statement yesterday, the German-Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GPCCI) said the seven firms are C4CONSULT Effizienz-Netzwerk; Eeaser GmbH, INDYON GmbH, Ingenieurbüro Meyer-Olbersleben, Hörmann Beijing Trading Co. Ltd., MIG mbH, Material Innovative Gesselschaft, and SolarNext AG.

The seven firms participated in the virtual conference on Energy Efficiency in the Cold Chain Industry - Technologies and Solutions organized by GPCCI last May 17.

The event was held as part of efforts to promote energy-efficient technologies and help German companies that intend to forge partnerships in the PhIlippine market.

It is also part of GPCCI’s German business delegation under the German Energy Solutions Initiative of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action.

“This business mission presents another opportunity for German businesses to explore the Philippine market and pursue partnerships that will strengthen its bilateral economic relations,” GPCCI executive director Christopher Zimmer said.

“We are also elated to see the interest and eagerness of the participating Philippine companies in engaging in the exploration of potential business opportunities with Germany and we hope that this delegation will pave the way for more partnerships and cooperation for the two countries, especially in the cold chain industry,” he said.

Cold Chain Association of the Philippines chairman Anthony Dizon said the local industry is projected to continue to grow by eight to 10 percent per annum over the next five years.

Given the enactment of new investment policies, he said the country could capture the interest of the international community.

He said discussions on energy efficiency are timely as the Philippines is implementing Republic Act 11285 or the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act.

Dizon said the Philippine cold chain industry could utilize German energy efficient technology and solutions as it complies with the aforementioned law.

GPCCI, which serves as the official representation of German businesses in the Philippines, has around 300 members.

The group assists companies in their market entry and expansion.?
