How to craft HR policies, contracts

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Many businesses and employers get into trouble enforcing their employment contracts when these are defective and not aligned with the labor laws.  Others have labor problems simply because they don’t have any employee-employer agreement in writing. To help business owners, managers and HR practitioners establish a trouble-free employment contract, the Center for Global Best Practices will host a special program titled, “Best Practices in Crafting Your HR Policies and Contracts” on Aug. 7 and 8, 2019 at the Marriott Grand Ballroom, Resorts World Complex, Pasay City.

This special program is your opportunity to align your HR documents with the labor laws.  It is one of the best HR risk management initiative you can do to avoid future people problems.  Many companies have the misfortune of having outdated and defective contracts and unlawful policies that they only detect after receiving complaint notices from DOLE or court decisions – penalizing them with millions in compensation damages.

This program will feature labor law expert and practitioner, Atty. Elvin Villanueva, who has written 25 best-selling books namely: Digest on Critical Supreme Court Decisions on Labor Cases, Guide on Employee Compensation and Benefits Vol. 1 and 2, Guide to Valid Dismissal of Employees, Guide on Wage Order and Minimum Wage, Valid Job Contracting and Subcontracting, Gabay sa mga Karapatan ng mga OFWs, HR Forms, Notices and Contracts Vol. 1 and 2, Employee Transfer and Demotion, Leave Benefits, and many more.

Registration is open to the general public. CGBP is an accredited training provider of the Civil Service Commission. Public officials and government employees attending this event can earn points and are exempted from the P2,000-limit set by COA based on the Department of Budget and Management Circular 563 issued on April 22, 2016. Interested participants are encouraged to avail of the early payment savings and group discounts (for three or more registrants). Seats are limited and pre-registration is required.
