PLDT-backed firm starts boosting tech usage in key sectors
MANILA, Philippines — PLDT-backed systems solutions firm Multisys Technologies Corp. has started its bid to boost technology adoption in its eight priority sectors.
Multisys has earlier identified eight priority sectors for the rollout of its software technology services, which include information technology, government, healthcare, utilities, hospitality, retail, banking and finance, and the academe.
Multisys CEO David Almirol Jr. said the company seeks to bring innovative and creative systems solutions to the country to boost technology adoption in the various sectors it has identified.
In line with its priority sectors, the company, in partnership with CIS Bayad Center Inc., recently launched a payment app in a bid to make digital financial services even more accessible, and promote cashless payments for consumers to make payments easily and securely via their mobile phones.
The new version of the Bayad Center app introduces additional features such as sending and receiving of mobile load and fund, payments via QR code, plus additional security features like fingerprint scanning, four-digit MPIN, and one-time PIN verification.
With the partnership, Filipinos will be able to pay over 1,000 types of bills and perform other financial transactions practically anywhere using the new version of the Bayad Center app.
“We want to empower users by giving them the freedom to make payments whenever and wherever they want. Backed by our industry partners such as Bayad Center, we will continue to develop innovative and easy-to-use digital solutions that will provide convenience to more Filipinos,” Almirol said.
“Together with Multisys, we are able to transform our bills payment app into a next-generation payment app where anyone can pay not only their bills, but even their government contributions, loan payments, professional license fees, even traffic violation tickets, in the comfort of their homes,” CIS Bayad Center president and CEO Manny Tuason said.
Multisys is a software engineering solutions firm that provides a wide range, cost-effective and full-scale service to companies.
In November last year, PLDT invested P2.15 billion in Multisys to achieve the telco giant’s goal of becoming a full-scale digital services provider.
Multisys is also expected to strengthen the ongoing digital initiatives of ePLDT and Voyager Innovations, particularly in the fields of electronic payments and digital financial services.
