The conference, titled “Connecting Women Businesses Globally: Discovering Opportunities in Asia’, is sponsored by China Europe International Business School, which is also hosting the event at its state-of-the-art campus in Shanghai from Sept. 9 to 12 this year.
This year’s conference celebrates global successes in female entrepreneurship, forging of new business relationships, and will discuss growth opportunities in Asia as the global network of women-owned businesses, whose combined revenue exceeds $25 billion per year.
IWEC is a New York-based international economic empowerment organization exclusively for women business owners, formed in 2007 with the assistance of the US State Department. In addition, its founders include the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce, Manhattan Chamber of Commerce (MCC) and FICCI/FLO Chamber in New Delhi.
For the past 11 years, IWEC has gathered some of the world’s largest and most successful women-owned companies in an intensive three-day program to inform, connect and celebrate the work of women entrepreneurs from all corners of the globe. The conference will close with an awards gala that will celebrate the groundbreaking work of 30 successful women business owners including women from Bangladesh, India, Philippines, China, African and American nations as new awardees. Around 250 attendees including delegates from Africa, Asia, Europe, South America, Australia, USA and China are expected in this year’s conference and awards.
