PLDT ties up with Fam Zone

MANILA, Philippines – PLDT Inc. has forged a partnership with Australia’s parental control device provider Fam Zone to enable parents to shield their children from threats that may come as they use the internet.

“PLDT has been committed to answer its subscribers’ ever-changing needs by providing them with the strongest connections and most innovative technology solutions,” Oscar Reyes Jr., PLDT first vice president and head of Home Operations said in a statement.

“This partnership sets a new bar in multimedia and digital services for Filipino families. Parents used to hide their internet modems at home just to control their children’s online activities. Now with Fam Zone, parents can be certain that their children are safe and secured online,” he added.

Through the Fam Zone device, parents can use a website filtering feature to ensure their children do not access inappropriate sites and content.

The device also allows parents to set alerts and reporting functions to track their children’s online activities and identify pre-approved sites that could be accessed.

With its time management feature, the device likewise allows parents to assign usage schedules for their kids.

By downloading the Fam Zone app, parents will be able to manage the mobile devices and internet usage of their children even when they are not home.

Fam Zone, the latest offering from PLDT Home Fibr, strengthens the suite of security devices and services available for parents worried about their children’s safety when using the internet.

Aside from Fam Zone, PLDT also offers Fam Cam which is a device that lets one watch over his or her family members wherever they are, as well as the multi-functional kiddie gadget Smart Watch.

Fam Zone is best used by families with broadband service PLDT Home Fibr, which delivers speeds of up to one Gbps and with plans now as low as P1,699 per month.
