Sta Lucia Mall interconnects with LRT-2 Emerald station

MANILA, Philippines – Sta. Lucia Land Inc. (SLI) has inked an agreement with the Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) for the construction of an interconnection facility between Sta. Lucia Mall and the LRT 2 Emerald station in Pasig City.

LRTA is a wholly-owned government corporation created in 1980 to construct, operate, maintain or lease light rail transit systems in the Philippines.

It is currently undertaking the capacity enhancement of the LRT Line 2 East Extension project.

The enhancement involves the extension of the elevated tracks of the LRT Line 2 by approximately 3.934 kilometers to the Masinag Market in Antipolo City along the center-line of Marcos Highway from its current terminus in Santolan, Pasig City.

The project enhancement also includes the provision of two stations, one of which is the proposed Emerald Station straddling Imelda Ave. and adjoining Robinson Metro East and Sta. Lucia East malls in Pasig City.

Under the agreement, SLI is willing to construct a lay-by, which would facilitate seamless vehicular and pedestrian traffic management and thereby serving public interest and safety particularly along the portion of Marcos Highway immediately fronting Sta. Lucia Mall.

The construction of an interconnection access facility between Sta. Lucia Mall and Business Center and the LRT 2 Emerald station, similar to existing facilities in other LRT stations, will enhance accessibility and will further serve public interest and safety,” SLI.
