Madrid Fusion Mla returns next year
MANILA, Philippines - The highly successful Madrid Fusion Manila (MFM) will return in April next year, with Michelin Star international chefs in attendance.
According to the Department of Tourism, chefs Eneko Atxa and Yoshihiro Narisawa of Tokyo, Japan and Joan Roca of Girona, Spain, will be gracing the annual culinary event.
Tourism Secretary Ramon R. Jimenez Jr. said the initial hosting of the event last month had a successful run.
He said it takes a year to prepare and the department is determined to get a headstart in claiming Manila’s rightful place as the center of culinary excellence in the region.
To jumpstart preparations, the DOT inked an agreement with Spains Foro de Debate and Arum Estrategias Internacionalizacion early this month, formally announcing the return of MFM.
The ceremony also served as a thanksgiving reception attended by government and non-government sponsors, industry partners and featured Filipino chefs who made the maiden edition of Madrid Fusion Manila an overwhelming success.
Featured Filipino chefs include Fernando Aracama, J.C. de Terry, Margarita Fores, J. Gamboa, Jose Luis Gonzales, Pepe Lopez, Rob Pengson, Bruce Ricketts, Myrna Seguismundo and Claude Tayag.
