2 more firms eye Lakeshore project
MANILA, Philippines - The P123-billion Laguna Lakeshore Expressway Dike public private partnership (PPP) project has attracted two more bidders, the PPP Center announced yesterday.
The PPP Center said the Charbet Jara Rainbow Holdings Inc. consortium and Mega Express Road and Development Corp. have expressed interest in the largest PPP project of the Aquino administration.
This brings to 24 the number of interested companies in the project, including JG Summit Holdings Inc., San Miguel Corp. (SMC), the Lucio Tan Group, Ayala Land Inc., Metro Pacific Tollways Corp. (MPTC) Metro Pacific Investments Corp. (MPIC), Megaworld Corp. , GT Capital Holdings Inc. , and Filinvest Land Inc.
The DPWH is looking at further extending the deadline for the submission of prequalification documents for the PPP project by another two months. The agency earlier extended the submission of qualification documents for the PPP project to Jan. 14 instead of Oct 16 to give bidders more time to form competitive groups.
Prequalified bidders would then be notified on Feb. 8 and the submission of bid proposals is scheduled on July 6. Only prequalified bidders would be allowed to submit bid proposals.
The DPWH intends to issue the Notice of Award on Aug. 4 next year paving the way for the signing of the concession agreement on Sept. 4.
