APEX holds HR forum for retail industry
MANILA, Philippines - The first forum among human resources (HR) practitioners in the retail industry was launched recently at the Linden Suites in Ortigas.
Dubbed the Professional Excellence Forum, the forum aims to gather HR leaders and practitioners in the industry to learn, discuss and address common HR issues that impact retail organizations and their human resources. It also seeks to encourage peer learning, provide updates on HR trends and best practices, share experiences and enhance knowledge and skills on the various facets of HR management.
The forum was organized by the Academy for Professional Excellence (APEX) as it recognizes the linkage between business strategies and human resource management practices in the retail industry. While it acknowledges the growth of the retail sector that relies heavily on human capital, it also realizes the need of HR leaders and professionals to keep up and respond to the current HR challenges more effectively.
Attended by HR managers and executives, the first Professional Excellence forum was opened by Gerry Plana (in photo), chief executive officer of Investors in People Philippines, who shared global best practices and strategies in HR. The succeeding forums commit to promote activities that will facilitate a dialogue among and between HR professionals and key people towards achievement of organizational objectives.
