HCPTI creates first mobile app for online port transactions
MANILA, Philippines - Harbour Centre Port Terminal Inc. (HCPTI) chairman Reghis M. Romero II announces a breakthrough in bulk and breakbulk cargo port operations by introducing the mobile system for HCPT online seaport transactions. It is the first of its kind in the country today.
Dubbed “U-PORT†for Unified Port Operations Real-time Technology, the system enables HCPTI clients to transact with the firm using their iPhone, iPad, Android smartphones or tablets devices.
One simply needs to go to the Google Play Store or App Store and search for “U-PORT†or “HCPTI†keywords. By downloading for free and logging in with the given user password, clients may now easily access available mobile services to apply for vessel berthing, book for truck vehicle entry, monitor cargo status and receive company service updates, among others.
“The U-PORT mobile app is designed for clients who are always on the go and want real-time information right at the palm of their hands anytime, anywhere,†said the HCPT chairman.
The U-PORT technology may also be accessed through personal computer by visiting HCPTI’s website www.harbourcentre.com.ph and going to Web Tools. Users will be prompted to login into the U-PORT system.
A privately-owned international seaport handling bulk and breakbulk cargoes, HCPTI enjoys the distinction of having acquired three ISO certifications in one sweep, a five-year certification/statement of compliance with the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code standards, unmatched bulk and breakbulk cargo turnaround time, zero pilferage, and now the country’s first mobile system for online port transactions and cargo monitoring.
The U-PORT app has been on stream since last year but was initially utilized by HCPTI for its internal operations, such as automated vessel and yard planning and berth management, human resource/manpower activities procurement requisitions, and a tool for task planning, monitoring and evaluation, among others.
“Our clients and end-users can simply login to the U-PORT by using their user access accounts and enjoy our real-time online services on the go†Romero II pointed out, citing HCPTI’s world-class information technology system.
